Clip cut steps out of recording, trimming, and cleanup this week

New here? Clip is our app for recording your screen or camera, then trimming and sharing the clip.

Countryside scene with trees, windmill, clouds, and cactus.

Clip, the tool we use to record and share video, picked up a run of upgrades this week that mostly come down to less clicking. Video now plays inside the library itself, so finding the right take no longer means opening each clip in a new window. A new desktop webcam mode records, trims, and uploads with nothing but the built-in camera, no studio setup involved.

The trim tool snaps to keyframes for clean cuts, and if the cut is wrong, there is a full day to undo it before it sticks. Delete a clip by mistake and there is a 30 second window to bring it back. Phone uploads now send to the nearest edge server first, which kills the stalls that used to hit cross-country uploads, and helps most on slower connections in smaller towns.
